Report Problems

Please report a streetlight that is blinking, burned out, on during the day or making a loud buzzing noise. These are signs that the streetlight needs repair. Call LWP at (970) 962-3581 during regular business hours (7:30 am to 4:00 pm) or report online.

Please note the exact location of the problem light and have the pole number handy. Provide the yellow two-digit number posted on the side of the pole.

Requests for Streetlights

LWP installs and maintains all street lighting within the City limits. Each year, LWP evaluates many requests for streetlights. Budget and needs are the major factors in streetlight evaluation and placement. Intersections with high accident rates and high crime areas identified by the Police Department receive priority attention. Other considerations in determining streetlight placement include:

  • The light must be easily installed.
  • Streetlight placement must provide useful light to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
  • The light must not disturb other neighborhood residents.

Requests for streetlights are prioritized and installed as the budget allows. If all funds are used, high priority requests are carried over into the next budget year.
