Utility-related development requirements
If you're developing in Loveland, here are the utility-related requirements you need to be aware of:
Requirements for Electric Service
These requirements apply to all new electric installations and additions to or modifications of existing electric installations. View them here.
Water and Wastewater Development Standards
These standards serve as governing documentation for design and installation of water and wastewater systems. View them here.
Cross Connection and Backflow
In accordance with the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations, Loveland Water and Power requires the use of valves called backflow prevention devices/assembly for all developments. Health Department regulations require multi-family and commercial properties to test and maintain these devices and assemblies at least annually by a certified cross connection control technician. The type of backflow prevention assembly needed will depend on how the water is used within your plumbing.
You can learn more about these requirements here.
Sprinkler Inspections and Permits
Loveland Municipal Code requires that a free permit be obtained before installing a new sprinkler system. You can read more info and apply here.
The Hydrozone Program
The Hydrozone Program promotes water efficiency for developments with dedicated irrigation meters, who design and install water-efficient landscapes. Hydrazine Program participants pay reduced water rights fees on their associated irrigation meter.
